I was very happy to be able to secure this beautiful Bugatti T38 out of the important collection of one of my Brussels based customers.
This authentic, matching numbers rolling T38 chassis together with all her original mechanical components was bought in 1965 from a Belgian Citroën dealer who stored this chassis during the war-times in his attic.
My customer, a collector from the early times, started an intelligent, well documented, full restoration on this T38 rolling chassis. Because the original body was lost during the war he adapted a period T37 body from Brussels coachbuilder 'Snutsel' to this chassis. The result is a handsome, sporty 4-seater 'Toast Rack' Tourer with pointed tail.
In the Belgian classic car scene this T38 was a regular participant to classic car events and proved to be a very reliable vintage sportscar.
The punch from the 2 litre 8 cylinder enabling sporty performances aswell as long distance touring trips thanks to a comfortable ride.
Very well sorted after all these years in the same ownership a future Bugatiste will not have to worry about typical nightmares such as low oil-pressure nor overheating, because this T38 is absolutely tip-top!
